Yes, care is taken during the manufacturing process to ensure your dentures look as natural as possible.
A set of dentures should be replaced about every 6 – 8 years. However you should still get a regular check-up every year because as you get older your jaw changes shape. To counter this, a reline may be required to ensure a secure fitting.
You should clean your dentures at least twice a day with special denture-friendly toothpaste and brushes and preferably after every meal, like you would with your natural teeth. Do not use normal toothpaste, it is too abrasive for dentures. At night soak them in denture tablets to keep them clean.
